Started late November 2016, the layout is very much a "work in progress" with a modicum of scenery completed so far. To date, the focus has been on building (hopefully) solid bench work, smooth track work and reliable electrics for enjoyable operation. The upper level at 51" height is the main display that also leads, via a helix, to a lower level at 39" containing a large staging area and reverse loop, which will eventually feature a low-level station.

The fictional setting is to be somewhere in the industrial towns of northern England with its large mills, works and overcast weather (miserable grey skies) in the autumn of steam power during the transition period from private railway ownership to nationalisation, (my excuse for mixing motive stock and liveries I like). However, a couple of early diesel locos and DMUs also run, for personal nostalgic reasons. The trains will be substantially passenger sets plus a few goods sets. The locos are predominantly Stanier, Ivatt and Fowler designs built for the LMS railway, which serves the locale.

Directions

Take I-575 to Junction 16. Then follow  Route 20 west towards Cartersville/ Rome for about 3 3/4 miles. Turn right into Copper Hills Sub-Division. Number 108 is on right about 150 yards from entrance to Copper Hills sub.
